tubular cast on
for 1×1 ribs with odd number of sts: 2 sts at each ends are knit sts
for 1×1 ribs with odd number of sts: 2 sts at each ends are knit sts
As stitches casted on with this technic are not stable, it is better to use straight needles
Hold the thread as shown, twist and hook the thread between the fingers on the right needle. This became the first stitch.
Make 1 st on the right needle: pick up the thread on the thumb, moving the point of the needle like the indicated arrow. It’s the 2nd st and equivalent to a purl st.
Make 1 more st on the right needle: pick up the thread on the index finger, moving the point of the needle like the indicated arrow. It will be the 3rd st and equivalent to a knit st.
Repeat 2 et 3 until you have obtained the required number of sts. Carefully hold the stitches obtained during these steps, because they are not stable before proceeding to the next step.
Turn the work and knit the first 2 sts.
Slip the next st with yarn in front and knit one. Repeat this until the second before the end (keep 1 st on your left needle).
Knit 1 for the last st.
Turn the work, slip next 2 sts with yarn in front and knit one. Then, repeat the step 6 on the row (keep 2 sts on your left needle).
.
Slip the next st with the yarn in front and purl the last st.
Turn the work… It’s done!
