tubular cast on
for 1/1 rib with an even number of stitches
for 1/1 rib with an even number of stitches
As stitches casted on with this technic are not stable, it is better to use straight needles
Hold the thread as shown, twist and hook the thread between the fingers on the right needle. This became the first stitch.
Make 1 st on the right needle: pick up the thread on the thumb, moving the point of the needle like the indicated arrow. It’s the 2nd st and equivalent to a purl stitch.
Make 1 more st on the right needle: pick up the thread on the index finger, moving the point of the needle like the indicated arrow. It will be the 3rd st and equivalent to a knit stitch.
Repeat 2 et 3 until you have obtained the required number of sts. Carefully hold the stitches obtained during these steps, because they are not stable before proceeding to the next step.
Turn the work and knit the first sts.
Slip the next st with yarn in front and knit one. Repeat this until the second before the end (keep 1 st on your left needle).
Purl the last stitch.
Turn the work, slip 1st st and repeat the step 6 on the row until end.
Turn the work… It’s done!
