“Mirefleurs” : dyeing by hand wools by Porcs-épics Tricoteur, Bulky – Alpaca wool
This wool-alpaca yarn is ideal for knitting tops or thick accessories that keep warm, it allows you to knit fairly quickly.
It is made, produced and dyed by hand with French wool yarns by “Porcs-épics Tricoteur” in Mirefleurs, in a pretty village in Auvergne, France.
The colored wool “Billes” is used for our “Marbles play” sweater model presented in a knitting book published in Japan in November 2021.
The English pattern are now available!
The wools are dyed with non-corrosive acid.
The only acid involved is white vinegar or citric acid: protein fibers need a little acid in the dye bath to fix the colors.
70% mérinos and 30% baby alpaca
100g/100m, 7,0-8,0 mm (needles)
In the same series ’Mirefleurs’, we offer the Fingerling – Superwash Merino in skein of 100g or 25g.
You can also find a knitting kit using this yarn, in fingerling, for a sweater.
* Due to the hand dyeing, each piece is slightly different. Thank you for your understanding.

For those who make the “Marbles play” sweater (tips for knitting it with wool)
*As the yarns are hand dyed, each skein does not give the same color density. So we advise you, before you start, to decide which skein to use for which part by untwisting all the skeins and comparing them.
As a tip, choose skeins that have a high density color for the yoke portion, and those that are low density for the sleeves or torso for a nice finish. Since both sleeves use one skein each, select yarns of similar color and density.
*As this yarn is thick and short, be careful not to leave too much yarn at the beginning or end of the knit so as not to run out at the end.
